When Camille Seaman began photographing the frigid and snowy lands at the top and bottom of the world more than a decade ago, she focused simply on the beauty of the icy terrain, the majesty of wildlife, and the feeling of absolute desolation. She didn't at first realize that her images were also capturing something else: change. So Seaman went back to each end of the earth, spending a decade traveling between Antarctica and the Arctic, to better document their warming landscapes. Her catalogue—featuring stranded walruses, shrinking 'bergs, and icebreakers cutting through frozen seas, can be found in her new book Melting Away.
