Ron Paul and his supporters and delegates would not be pleased to find out the State Party Chair, Charles Webster is trying to disclude them from participating in the State Convention.

The Boston Globe aggregated an AP story Friday admitting Maine's GOP may be attempting to pull a fast-one on an expected Ron Paul delegate stampede by voting for the Party Chair and Secretary before everyone arrives on Saturday, May 5th.

Buried deep into the Ron Paul hit piece was AP writer, Glenn Adams spelling out a possible Ron Paul “takeover” of the Convention, while admitting to an email sent by state GOP Chairman, Charles Webster, only to certain delegates and alternatives. He apparently urged them to, “arrive early for the 'critical' vote for convention Chairman and Secretary.”

It would be very surprising if any Ron Paul supporters were on that email's recipients list.

The email went on to read, "This would be the first opportunity for anyone to `take over' the convention by electing `their' convention chairman," Webster wrote.

"I regret the necessity of writing this message, but unfortunately there are those among us who would choose to divide us rather than unite us," Webster wrote.

Ironically, attempting to thwart a legal election process by trying to talk the supporters of other candidates into secretly meeting before the actual convention takes place to subvert the rights of any particular delegate is the epitome of actions that would “divide” the party, in addition to proving himself as a fraud and a cheat.

Ron Paul's supporters have traditionally been more dedicated and are merely following the rules of the GOP election process. Outnumbering the other candidate's supporters is not illegal or wrong in any way.

Do you think the Chairman would be saying anything like this if the roles were reversed and it was his favorite candidate “taking over” because his supporters outnumbered the other candidate's voters?

Maine's Ron Paul supporters and delegates are urged to contact Chairman Webster and ask why he is attempting to break the rules because his candidate may not win.

Maine's Ron Paul delegates are also urged to show up early, if necessary, on Saturday to insure fair election practices and laws are maintained in the state of Maine.
