ATTRIBUTES:  Moldavite, a beautiful dark green tektite, is found near the Moldau River in Czechoslovakia. Moldavite was formed during meteoric action which produced a strew field of this beautiful green stone. Moldavite is one of the rare variety of tektites formed over 15 million years ago. Moldavite is known as a gem-quality stone of extra-terrestrial origin. The word tektite comes from the Greek word "tektos" meaning "molten."
