Growing Korean Red Ginseng

Step 1

To stratify the ginseng seeds place them in between 2 equal layers of sand. Cover the container with a cloth and refrigerate the seeds for 6 months. 

Step 2

After 6 to 8 months are over, remove the seeds from refrigerator. Some of the seeds may have decayed; discard them. The seeds that have grown in size and started sprouting will be best for planting. 

Step 3

Ginseng can be grown as a potted plant. Take 8 inches of well draining soil in a pot. Plant the seeds 3 inches under the soil. 

Step 4

Water the ginseng regularly for 6 months because that is the time it will sprout and grow into a plant. 

Step 5

Ginseng plants like moderate sunshine. So keep them in indirect sunlight every day. You might notice some fresh berries of ginseng a year after planting the seeds. 

Step 6

You can harvest these berries immediately.
