"Volkswagen scandal"
Is it right to assign blame to Volkswagen for not meeting unrealistic emissions goals on its diesel engines, after-all what goes in must come out whatever one does, perhaps they should not have deceived the authorities and their customers, but just who is too blame is debatable.
I was once an automotive engine tuner and one can only tune an engine to specifications without causing damage to the engine components at variable speeds without losing power.
What government official put the exhaust analyzer into the VW tailpipe and gave the all clear?
I also worked 17-years in the coal export industry as a plant operator driving bulldozers, ship-loaders, en-loaders, bobcats, gantry cranes, forklifts, mobile cranes, backhoes etc.
The coal company was very good to me and I can tell people that coal-fired power stations and steel-mill will be around for a longtime to come, because nothing can replace it, not even solar panels that deteriorate after 10-years rendering them worthless on rooftops.

It's not necessary to recall hundreds of thousands of vehicles fitted with diesel engines, because it's all to do with emissions from the engine's exhaust and not the motor itself. All the car-maker should have to do is give their customer and the public the real exhaust data in relation to pollution levels omitted from the tailpipe, to do otherwise would be a wast of time and money both for the authorities and car company. Don't recall those VW affected vehicles, it's pointless' wouldn't you agree.
Try using a refined diesel fuel in your car and use an engine oil like PENRITE 15W-50 that will give the car better performance and miles per gallon with every tank of fuel.
PENRITE OIL IS PERFECT FOR THE CARS "TURBO" GIVING IT MORE POWER AND MILLAGE.
