The Canadian gun registry was used as a reference list for the government to confiscate our guns. A  young man went on a drug-induced rampage through our tiny rural town. He overturned benches and planters, and smashed the windows out of businesses, including the bar where I occasionally help out.
The lady I work with called me to come and talk to the police with her because her English is not great. She had already called them before calling me, and it only takes me 10 minutes to drive there. We waited together for almost 3 hours before an officer finally showed up.
After taking our report, I asked him why it took so long for him to arrive, and he said that there were only 3 officers on duty for the entire county, which is 50 miles by 50 miles. I then expressed my concern for my own safety, and asked him about me having a gun to protect my home and me.
He explained the long, drawn-out application and approval process, and then cautioned me that if I were to ever use a gun for self-protection, that I would be the one facing criminal charges. 
Watch the video above. The gentleman referenced is now facing property seizure because he chose to use a gun to protect his property from some thugs who were firebombing him.
