MISSOULA - Several events are taking place on Sunday to help mark Veterans Day in Western Montana.
An outdoor service will get underway at 1 p.m. at t Missoula Courthouse, at corner of Broadway and Ryman streets at gazebo. All other Veterans Day events remain the same.
Folks can head inside at 2:30 p.m. at Grizzly Peak Independent Living on American Way, where a lineup of all honor and color guards will walk to the dining hall. There will be a call to service by two buglers from VFW Post 209 and Bugles Across America.
The keynote address by Vietnam Veteran Jack Reneau, Commander of VFW Post 209, and members of United Veterans Council (UVC) for Ravalli and Missoula Counties will assist with the service. The Master of Ceremonies is Susan Campbell Reneau, VFW and American Legion Auxiliary Life Member and member of UVC.
The Historical Museum at Fort Missoula will be open on Veterans Day from noon to 5:00 in honor of all the men and women who have bravely served in the United States Armed Forces. The museum will be open free to all veterans, and those currently serving. Coffee and cookies will be available.
