With Tropical Storm Isaac inbound, the GOP has announced a delay in the Republican National Convention.  The first day has been scrapped, and Romney's campaign is trying to get all the planned activities condensed into a three day convention schedule.  Although Floridians are accustomed to storms of the magnitude of Isaac, out-of-towners may be unsettled by the severity of the storm.  It's expected to brush by Tampa as it is intensifying into a category 1 hurricane.  Expected to make landfall somewhere between Panama City Beach, Florida and as far west as the Louisiana-Texas border, the storm will bring torrential rains, storm surge, and high winds to the area of Louisiana that a huge sinkhole has opened up.  The huge sinkhole opened up in Bayou Corne, Louisiana, and continues to grow, despite efforts to stop it's growth.  With a large salt-dome nearby, filled with 1,500 containers of butane, officials are scrambling to contain the spread of the sinkhole.  If this tropical storm hits Louisiana, will it affect this sinkhole?  What about all that corexit that was dumped in the gulf following the BP oil disaster.  What happens when all that stuff, that settled out to the bottom of the gulf, is stirred back up, picked up by the storm, and dumped back down on us in the rain?  I am also worried that if the sinkhole reaches the butane, the resulting explosion could trigger the New Madrid Fault.  Which could in turn, trigger Yellowstone.  While this is an unlikely scenario, it is possible.  What is going on in the gulf?  Why are they trying to keep this hushed up?  What really happened to cause the sinkhole to open up in the first place?  With the DHS on the scene now, I doubt we'll know anytime soon.
