Woman Denies Trying To Kill Baby Found In Bin

A woman accused has denied attempted murder and perverting the course of justice after a baby was discovered in a rubbish bin.
The baby, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was found at the bottom of a rubbish chute outside a block of flats in Wolverhampton on September 8, last year.
The baby was taken to Birmingham Children's Hospital and treated for serious injuries.
Iraqi born Jaymin Abdulrahman pleaded not guilty to the two charges at Wolverhampton Crown Court this morning.
The 24-year-old, who appeared wearing a black head scarf, black dress and grey cardigan, spoke through an interpreter to confirm her name.
Judge John Warner remanded Abdulrahman into custody. She will next appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on February 22 for a directions hearing.
A trial date has been provisionally set for June 5 at Birmingham Crown Court.
A 32-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender is on police bail.
