5 Occupy Toledo supporters tried to enter City Council chambers today. Two were prevented from doing so because they had signs to hold of the 1st amendment of the constitution. When the 1 tried to enter anyway he was pushed to the ground by a Toledo Police officer who placed his total weight on the back of Rick Van Landingham and handcuffed him. Rick is a asthmatic who said so but the officer would not listen & did not let up pressure. He was screaming in pain. When his partner Meghan came to his assistance by reaching out for him, a Hwy. Patrol officer picked her up off the ground and slammed her hard to the concrete ground outside the chambers. He proceeded to place his knee with full weigh on her back as he handcuffed her. Screaming in pain from the pressure was to no avail as the officer continued to his hold on her while searching all the belongings, pockets and body. She is being charged with resisting arrest and assaulting an officer.
