Ron Paul launches clemency petition for Edward Snowden

Feb 14, 2014
Former Congressman Ron Paul (R-Texas) has launched a clemency petition for National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden. "Edward Snowden sacrificed his livelihood, citizenship and freedom by exposing the disturbing scope of the NSA's worldwide spying program," Paul said. The petition asks the US government to grant the former government contractor clemency before his temporary asylum in Russia runs out at the end of July. Meanwhile, those people at the NSA who helped Snowden gain access to the classified materials are beginning to feel repercussions, with one of those people resigning from his job. RT's Perianne Boring takes a look at Paul's clemency petition and the latest implications of the NSA leaks.
